It's been almost a week since then...
I snoozed the alarm twice, which usually gave me just about enough time to prepare in the morning. But somehow, I managed to sleep through the time between the second snooze and seconds before the third... and when I finally opened my eyes, it was already 6:15 am!!!
Oh no! I raced to take a shower... "Lord, Lord... how could I have not gotten up earlier?" I was preparing myself for a "Bad Mommy Moment" - not giving the kids a shower before school. "You know what," I thought, "It's super cold today. They might get sick anyway if I give them a shower and send them off to school without blow drying their hair - definitely no time for blow drying today!"
"Be, wake up! It's 6:45. Sorry, I overslept..."
You got dressed with the kids, who were still half-asleep. Then you raced to the car, but I still had to put my boots on. I was worried sick. I know how strict you are on punctuality. I could hear you starting the car, so I raced through the hallway. Then I heard you scream from the bottom of the stairs, "Be!!!"
Gulp - I was in for a big scolding...
And I was about to close the front door when you called out, "Is it only 5:05???"
I couldn't believe it! All that rush... But it was pitch-black, and we looked at the other clocks in the house - Yup, 5:05 am!
We laughed.
It was funny then... and it's funny now...
But I just want to thank you again for not throwing a fit when I "pulled an Audrey" (aka. The "Only Audrey" Moments) that morning. Humor is indeed one of the saving graces of our marriage.

I know that I don't know you, nor do I know whether this blog was supposed to be a private thing between you and your husband, but I would like to say that, as a future graduate school student, reading your blog has made me feel better about the possibility of being married in graduate school.
