About two years ago after a huge fight with Edison, I realized that sulking and brewing in anger did not help the situation. So I started writing down the things I love most about him instead. I cut out each reason and put it in a “love jar.” That action became a habit. Every time we hit a rough patch in our marriage – whether it’s just a tiny misunderstanding or a giant argument – I would turn the heated negative energy into a warm and loving, more positive energy: writing things down that will go into the Love Jar for Edison. After a while, I didn’t even have to wait for an argument. Every time I caught him doing sweet, nice things, I would put the deed in the love jar. Now the love jar goes online…
